DUBAI: Inspired by Chirag Suri’s and Reuben Abraham’s performances, YTCA  routed G Force by nine wickets to win the under-19 title while visiting Durham County defeated Desert Cubs by five wickets to clinch the Under-17 title respectively in the Nissan Gulf Cup organised by YTCA under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.
YTCA, who were unbeaten going into their final, lived up to expectations as they put up a clinical all-round performance to keep the G Force lads at bay.
G Force, batting first, capitalised on Karthik Shekar’s fine innings of 47 runs as they put up a decent total of 144 all out in 25 overs. Karthik hit five boundaries during his innings which lasted 54 balls while Omar Mohammed also contributed with 29 runs off 39 balls.
Chirag was the most successful bowler for YTCA as he claimed four wickets for 34 runs while Aditya Mavru and Sairaj Raghwan were also instrumental in claiming two wickets each.
In reply, Reuben continued his unbeaten streak as he along with Sunair (43 not out) dominated the G Force bowlers to help YTCA reach 146 for one wicket in 22 overs.
Reuben’s 65-ball innings was laced with eights hits past the ropes while Sunair hit two boundaries and three sixes during his 39-ball knock.
In the under-17 final, Durham County got a measure of revenge for their only league loss suffered against Desert Cubs.
Durham, who had lost by 18 runs against Cubs, made sure of victory this time around as they managed to get the better of their rivals by a five-wicket verdict in the under 17 final.
Batting first, Cubs scored 131 all out in 20 overs. Zafri top scored with 43 runs with able support from Renaldi (26) and Snanath (20).  The Durham trio comprising of B Paul, Whitehead and H Singh shared two wickets each.
In reply, Durham County lost five wickets before scoring 132 in 23 overs. Bratwhite was Durham’s leading scorer with 40 runs while Hardy contributed with a useful knock of 34.  W Perera (2 for 25) and Aaron (2 for 17) were among the wickets for Desert Cubs.
