The touring YTCA team won the Under 11 Home Centre International Cricket Cup in a three match series versus Morpeth Cricket Club being played at the Morpeth Cricket Grounds at Longhirst Hall.

In the fist match – YTCA made 80 for 1 in 20 overs with Nikhil Nambiar scoring an unbeaten 50. Nikhil has been in fine form this tournament and this was his second fifty. Rehan Frank made 11 not out.

In reply – Morpeth CC made 37 in their allotted 20 overs and were held back by some fantastic bowling by Arvind 1 for 5 , Mohammed Ali 1 for 2 and this enabled YTCA to win by 43 runs.

In the second match – Morpeth made 60 runs with James scoring 17 and Lucas 25. Nikhil Nambia took 2 for 20 and Rahul took 1 for 9.

YTCA made the runs for the loss of one wicket with Mohammed Ali 17 not out and Aryan Arora 10 and Nikhil Nambiar 9 not out.

In the third match – YTCA made 78 for 2 with Nabh Babbar making 32 not out. Mark took one wicket and Toross taking the other one.

Morpeth could score only 68 for 5 with Lucas making 34. Rehan Frank took 1 for 10 = Mohammed Ali 1 for 10 and Nikhil 1 for 7.

Coach Prosanta Chanda was delighted with the victory and congratulated the boys for a fine team effort.

Man of the Series was Rahul Nambiar – Best Batsman was Nikhil Nambiar – Best Bowler Aditya Rohit Gokhale and Best Fielder was Mohammed Ali Mirza
