South Shields won against YTCA by 53 runs in a match played at the South Shields cricket ground in Newcastle.  YTCA won the toss and elected to field on a pitch affected  by rain. Shobit Bhatia provided the opening breakthrough when he had C Watson caught by VishakhChandrasekhar  at gully. Vaibhav Chandrasekhar bowled well from the other hand and finished with 3 for 34 from 8 overs. Omar T took 1 wicket. South Shields batsmen were troubled by the leg spin of Vishakh Chandrasekhar took 4 for 31 and at one stage South Shields were  struggling at 108 for 8. An amazing knock of 114 by C Dorthy took the match away from YTCA. He hit 4 sixes and 8 fours to power South Shields to a respectable 233 all out. Aditya took 1 wicket for 41 runs.

In reply YTCA started positively but a sudden collapse saw them struggling at 50 for 4 as they lost the wickets of BharathSreenivasan when he had scored 16 and SairajVenkat when he had also scored 16. AbrarKhazi and Vishakh then steadied the innings with a fine stand of 50 but Abrar was bowled by A Shaw when he had scored a fine 36. Shobhit Bhatia and Vishakh steadied the innings and there was a faint hope of victory as the score reached 172 but a terrible mix up got Vishakh run out when had scored 29. The tail did not offer much resistance and Shobhit was the last man out when he had scored 25 and the team was all out 180 runs.
