Oman Insurance sealed a thrilling victory over Emirates Insurance in a super over after the match was tied in the Insurance Premier League cricket tournament at the Skyline University College grounds.

The tournament is organized by Young Talents Cricket Academy under the auspices of the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Earlier batting first, Oman Insurance powered to a fine 182 for three in 20 overs thanks to fine knock from Mohammad Aslam. He was unlucky to miss out on a deserving century after he was out on 97 from just 52 balls consisting of 10 boundaries and three sixes.

Nitin Thomas chipped in with a quick 19-ball unbeaten 31 while Noaman Ibrahim scored 21 not out to ensure Oman Insurance had a good total.

In reply, Emirates Insurance looked good from the start with opener Ramesh M topscoring with 85 from just 39 deliveries. His innings was filled with nine sixes and three boundaries. Kunjumon Thomas was unbeaten on 24 while Cyril Lobo hit a 19 not out from nine balls as the scored 182 for four in 20 overs.

In another match, Sunil Machado scalped five wickets as scored a comfortable eight-wicket victory over Abu Dhabi National Insurance.

Opting to bat first turned a disaster for Abu Dhabi National Insurance as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. After Saurab K removed the openers Machado and Sudesh S ran through the rest of the batsmen to bundle out the Abu Dhabi team for a modest 45 in 13.1 overs.

Machado conceded only 10 runs in his four overs including three maidens while Sudesh who claimed three wickets gave away 12 runs in the 3.1 overs he bowled.

In reply, Premium Magazine just took 3.3 overs to finish off the target losing two quick wickets.

In yet another match, Al Nabodah Insurance defeated Royal Sun Alliance Insurance by 63 runs. Thanks to three half centuries from Vijesh Babu (76), Carl R Mathew (56), Nevil Perera (54 not out) and a 42 not out from Dihan Baba S, AL Nabodah Insurance amassed 237 for two in 20 overs.

It was a too big a target for Royal Sun Alliance as they managed 174 for six in 20 overs. Faizal Qazi top scored with an unbeaten 45.
