SHARJAH: A massive beaten 270-run opening partnership between Salman Babar and Abdullah Azhar was the cornerstone of hosts Skyline University’s 162 runs victory over American University in Dubai (AUD) in 14th edition of the Skyline Cup cricket tournament at the Skyline ground in Sharjah.

The hosts, batting first, stamped their authority over the AUD bowlers with Salman and his partner Abdullah virtually toying with the AUD attack, who were left clueless. Salman, was the more aggressive of the Skyline batsman as he amassed 152 runs while Abdullah who played second fiddle was unbeaten on 101 runs.

In reply, the AUD batsmen never recovered from the onslaught as they managed only 108 runs. Karan was the only AUD batsman to show some resistance with an unbeaten 43 while Jigger Dhakan scored 20. Abdullah backed his century by picking two wickets for 10. However, it was Slaman who was adjudged the man of the macth for his explosive batting.
