jman Cricket Council affiliated, Young Talent Cricket Academy (YTCA) has concluded yet another successful Cricket tournament, this time with their Gulf Cup 2017, one of the main events in the cricketing calendar in UAE cricket. Players, parents and Cricket enthusiasts alike rated this year’s event as a Carnival of Youth Cricket in UAE

Seventy T20 games were played from 24th to 28th December across 5 grounds Eden Garden, Mumbai Sports, Oval , Bataya Village and Victoria Cricket Academy ground  in Ajman, Sharjah  total more than 500  Local as well as overseas players were battling for the championship in Under 10, 13, 15, 17 and Under 19 categories. Four teams from India and Pakistan participated in this year’s event.

“YTCA, is one of the very few Cricket Academies in UAE those who create ample playing opportunities for young Crickets. All our tournaments are played on high standard turf wickets. We will continue to create opportunities for kids, “Youth Championship”, 50 over tournament for U15s will be the next tournament before our signature “5 Nations” in April 2018, said Mahesh Fonseka, Director of YTCA

Shahzad Altaf, founder of YTCA and former UAE player said that “I have witnessed the progress of UAE Cricket last 3 decades, standard of Cricket have leap-frogged substantially over last 3 to 4 years. In addition to tournaments like this, credit also should go to ECB for their efforts. Inter Emirates and Academy Leagues have generated huge interest towards the game.

Chief guest Mazhar Khan, prominent figure in UAE Cricket and an Administrator of Emirates Cricket Board, thanked YTCA for their continuous contribution towards the game of Cricket and congratulated the winners for their outstanding performance.
